The renovated villa was once a wealthy merchant’s home and all the rooms of the house overlook the large, cobbled courtyard. The villa is hidden in the alleys of the quaint village, past a little church and under bougainvillea arches. As you stumble upon the covered wooden front gate of Sophia, you will instantly fall in love with the energy of the place. This 19th century villa is a secluded paradise waiting for you!

Outdoors

The walled courtyard hides your private outdoor space, with a Moroccan style pool and sun loungers, an outdoor sofa bed, pottery urns with local plants and an impressive bougainvillea hanging over the walls. There is also a smaller courtyard with alfresco dining table and chairs, as well as candle night lanterns for romance under the stars. The terrace is perfect for your moments of Zen, and it is the ideal haven for true vacation relaxation.

Interior Design

Double doors lead from the courtyard into the spacious living and dining area, with high vaulted ceilings and reclaimed wood floors. The grand bedrooms are on either side of the living area, and one of them has a 4-poster bed. You will also find a bathroom and a fully equipped modern kitchen. The polished wooden floors and the original features give the feeling of a historic mansion, with a mix of antique pieces and comfortable modern amenities for you to enjoy every moment in this summer home away from home.

Good to know

Megalochori is a quiet village, once populated by rich vineyard owners, and around this area are some great local wineries to visit for traditional mezze dishes and wine-tasting at sunset.
