Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands known for its fascinating Medieval city, with historic remnants of the occupation by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. Apart from its rich history, is also a beautiful destination of natural wonders, pristine beaches, and experiences.

To provide you with a sneak peek into the island's enchantment, we've compiled some frequently asked questions about Rhodes to be answered by our concierge team.

How did it get its name?

Rhodes island rose from the sea and Zeus gave the island to Helios the sun god. He fell in love with the beauty of the island and blessed it with his eternal radiance and sunshine. Then the hero Helios falls in love with Rhode, the sea nymph daughter of Poseidon. Of course, they lived happily ever after on the island, and Helios named it Rhodes after her.
