Paros revealed!
Paros, a cosmopolitan and popular summer destination for its Cycladic architecture, beautiful azure waters, and sandy beaches. There are so many things to do while on the island, however, we will share with you the secrets that will elevate your holiday experience that no one will tell you.
Explore Lefkes village
Lefkes is a small picturesque village surrounded by mountains in the middle of the island. This beautiful village was the former capital of Paros and nowadays is a popular destination due to its charming and relaxing atmosphere. Walk around the narrow stone-paved streets, admire the Cycladic and Venetian architecture, and pay a visit to the classical Byzantine church, dating back to the 15th century, made out of white marble that glimmers under the sun. Take the ‘Byzantine road’, a path dating back to the Byzantine era, to reach the serene Prodromos village, full of charming houses with bougainvilleas. Lefkes is perfect for visiting after a long day at the beach to watch the sunset.
Tip: Abelia is a secluded villa for a group of friends, located on the top of a hill above the village of Lefkes

Visit historical monuments
You probably didn’t know but Paros has a lot of historical monuments and museums to visit if you are into some history lessons. First of all, while strolling around Naoussa, you will probably see the Venetian castle that dates back to the 15th century emerging from the water. Also, there are a lot of churches on the island, however the most prominent is Panagia Ekatontapiliani also known as “The Church of a Hundred Doors”. This majestic church dates back to the 4th century and is one of the oldest of Greece with outstanding architecture. Last, but not least, there are 2 museums that you can visit if you want to learn more about Greek history; the Museum of Cycladic Folklore, an interesting display of model ships and Cycladic artifacts, and the Archaeological Museum with sculptures, pottery, and many other items that date back to Neolithic and Roman times.

Cruise to nearby islands
Paros is near other beautiful islands that definitely worth a visit, like Antiparos, Naxos, Koufonisia, and Ios. We recommend Antiparos as it is only a 10-minute ferry ride away and it is a small island that you can explore in just one day. Antiparos is a quiet and serene island, full of sapphire waters, secluded beaches, and waterfront traditional tavernas, ideal for anyone who is seeking a relaxing escape. There is also an impressive cave with stalagmites known as the Cave of Antiparos, a unique sight of beauty on the southern side of the island.

Taste unique dishes
The Cycladic cuisine of Paros mixes both culture and taste, compromising oily foods, baked and boiled legumes, and many herbs. Tomato and potato balls, stuffed lamp, and pies are only a few of the unique tastes you will savor. The local meats are incomparable in taste while the freshly-caught seafood features fishes only found there, like gouna, salatouri, and mackerel. If you are visiting the island in mid-August, you will come across the island’s festivities where they cook karavoles (local giant snails), a gourmet delicacy not-to-be-missed! The island also produces honey, aromatic herbs, capers, and wines that you can buy from local stores.
Have your private chef prepare you some local delicacies at your villa.
